Hello!
Welcome to my blog. I've always been a writer, mostly in journals that I love to dig out and read from time to time. My maternal grandfather was a reporter for the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts. Many of my relatives have been bit by the creative writing bug, so it's easy to see that I would go down that same path.
I've had to take a bit of time off from writing (for myself) in order to finish my undergraduate degree. I'm happy to say that I will be graduating in May 2013 from IUPUI with a degree in English with a concentration in Writing and Literacy. It's been a long time coming! I'm also happy to say that my husband, J.C., will also be graduating in May with a degree in English, concentration in Film Studies. We've been juggling our full-time careers with part/full-time school since 2005, so it's an understatement when I say, we are ready to start our next chapter in life.
So you may ask, why the website now? Well, firstly, I'm taking a class at IUPUI called Writing for the Web, and this is our first assignment. However, I do believe that having a website to showcase my work will be advantageous, especially after I graduate and try to become a real writer (read: paid). So while the assignment made me create the website, I will undoubtedly continue it well after this semester ends.
Please check back for more content soon!
thanks,
katie
